Long story - I bought a citizen e-bike before the pandemic. I accidentally ran over the front wheel the other month so I contacted their support and found out the bike was discontinued and they couldn’t answer any of my questions. I thought I could figure things out on my own so I bought a wheel on Amazon and of course it wasn’t the right one.
So I reached out to ReCycles Bikes and within a short period of time they found a new wheel for me.
As I was there in the store, I looked at the bikes and saw a several bikes that really turned me on. I wanted a decent entry level mountain bike that I could putz around on in the watershed and I was pleasantly shocked that their prices were comparable to a new Walmart bike of lesser quality.
They let me take the one I was I wanted for spin and that cinched it. That was my bike.

Love the concept, but I was hesitant about the price and quality and yes these bikes are priced higher than yard sale bikes.
But these are not yard sale bikes.
Looking closer at a bike that caught my eye, I noticed it was almost completely refurbished. New cassette, new crank, new chain, new tires, hydraulic brakes with new rotors and pads. New seat, new handlebar, new seat post. Frame was lightweight aluminum, that and the rims were about the only thing that was left from the original bike.
A new bike of this quality would have cost 2-3 times what it was listed for at ReCycles. I bought it and took it home.
Quite happy with the whole transaction, love the bike, really loved the price. If you're in the market for a bike, I highly recommend you go check out the inventory and look closely at what he's done to these bikes before he puts them on the floor.

Fantastic local bicycle and service shop in the heart of beautiful downtown Frederick.
Matt is passionate about all things cycling, especially extending and giving new life to used and previously loved bicycles. Working on so many brands of frames, components and technologies over the years makes him excellent at servicing practically anything even remotely bicycle related. His knowledge, experience and skill base are incredible resources to our local cycling community.
He also provides bicycles at fantastic values for people looking to get into the sport without spending a ton.
Matt has also been a vital part of the community, investing his personal time and resources to building one of the best local cycling scenes I’ve ever experienced.
